Trey Schucker Goes to Prom, 'the Last Big Event Until Graduation'

By Trey Schucker on Thursday, April 14, 2011

I just had my senior prom on April 2nd.  I had a great time, and it made me sad that this would be my last prom ever.

Before prom, everybody goes to The University of the Ozarks fountain to take pictures. The University of the Ozarks has a really pretty campus, so it’s a great place for pictures.

After that, everybody goes straight to prom which started at about 6:30 p.m. Our prom had a circus theme which turned out really neat! Outside the high school are clowns and a ringmaster (high school teachers) greeting us as we came to the entrance. We walked in and the very first thing we saw was a ticket booth, which is where you give your prom tickets and vote for prom king and queen. There was a big circus tent made out of gossamer, which is where all the dancing took place. Outside of the tent were tables to sit at and eat food. Past the table were a big line of foods, desserts and drinks.

My date got prom queen which was really cool, and I was very happy for her. After prom, a group of my friends and their dates went with me and my date to Outback Steak House in Fort Smith to eat. That’s my favorite restaurant!

We had a great time together hanging out and talking. We all kept bringing up how sad it is that this is the last big event until graduation. We are all ready for graduation but it’s also kind of sad.  After eating, my date and I went back to my date’s house to watch a movie “Takers,” which was really good. That concluded my prom night, another big event of my Senior Year. Also, I know that our prom was early; so many high schools still have their proms coming up.  I hope everyone will have a good time, but remember to be safe!
