Katie Coker's Last Shot at the ACT

By Katie Coker on Wednesday, December 8, 2010

The day is finally here: Everything that I have worked for will hopefully pay off. I know that there are a lot of seniors who will be taking the ACT on Saturday because it is the last ACT that most colleges will accept for scholarships.

My hometown won’t be giving the ACT, so I have to drive 20 minutes to take it.

This week I have worked so hard to read the ACT prep book and figure out strategies that will advance my score. My ACT teacher told me about the 3:1 rule: If three of the optional answers are adjectives and one is an adverb, the answer will always be the adverb. That goes for anything. Good luck to all of you who will be taking the ACT!

Christmas break is almost here, and I can’t wait. All of my teachers are loading me up with last-minute tests and homework. Don’t goof off and not care because this is your last chance to bring your grades up, and if you make a bad grade, there won’t be anything you can do to improve. Just hang in there because Christmas break will be well worth all the hard work!
