Trey Schucker Picks SBU for Football, Funds & Physical Therapy Program

I finally made my decision on where I’m going to college!  I feel like the best place for me is Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo.

I am going to be playing on the football team at SBU and am really excited about my decision. They gave me a great scholarship offer which really made me happy. It costs roughly $24,000 to attend SBU and I have $22,000 of it paid for – which is a big relief for my parents.

I didn’t pick SBU just for the football or the fact that I have a scholarship there. Along with SBU, I had scholarship offers to Henderson State University and Arkansas Tech University

The big thing that got me about SBU is the academics. They have a great doctorate in physical therapy program, and that’s what I want to go into. The thing about SBU is they have a high school early acceptance program, which can make sure that you will be accepted into the physical therapy program after completing your four-year undergraduate degree. To be accepted early, you have to earn at least a 24 on the ACT, but only 10 people are selected every year. I need one more point to have a 24 and it would be great to be accepted early.

The campus is pretty nice. All of the buildings are spread out, which I liked for some reason. I really like the library!

I ent on an official visit to SBU on Jan. 15 and they took me to the SBU basketball game. I was surprised at how many people came and supported the Bearcats when the school was still on break. The coaches were really nice and made me feel right at home to seal the deal.

I’ll be on the campus come July, learning the plays and working with the coaches. I’m very excited and I’m ready to get to work.
