Katie's Last First Day
By Katie Coker on Monday, September 27, 2010
It was very weird getting ready for school and knowing that it would be my last first day of school. Every year my sisters, dad and I would take pictures our first day of school to make our mom proud. This was the last time I will ever have to do that. Being a senior means that I am the oldest in the school, so I didn’t have to worry about the upperclassmen … very exciting!
The first day, the seniors all decided to meet in a parking lot and come into to school as a group. The front of our school has a fountain with trees and grass around it. We got the clever idea to park all of our cars around the fountain in the grass, then went into school with big grins on our faces. It wasn’t 15 minutes into our first period class when the principal made us move our cars. We will definitely be remembered for that!
The classes I’m taking this year are physics, AP chemistry, AP English, journalism, art, desktop publishing and cheerleading. I am a little nervous about physics, AP chemistry and AP English. It is a lot of work but in the long run it will benefit me. I am also involved in cheer, dance, and softball and I am a member of many school clubs.
