Trey Schucker's Last Night On Home Field

By Trey Schucker on Thursday, October 28, 2010

I just had my Senior Night this past Friday for the 2010 football season. I have played on that field since I was in the sixth grade, and I have played many hard-fought wins and losses.

This is the first time all year that I have admitted this is my last year in high school because I will no longer play a home football game, and the year is a fourth of the way over. This really makes my mom sad but that’s OK. I have had many great times through my time at Clarksville schools.

I won’t give any examples because some people might know who I’m talking about, so I’ll save them the embarrassment. Sometimes I catch myself just sitting in class thinking about some of the past times in middle school and junior high. I am still having a good time in high school and hopefully it will get better with every day that goes by.

Senior Night was great. I’ve always wondered what it feels like to walk with your family on a Senior Night and I finally got to experience it. It was a mix of emotions including happiness, sadness, excitement, and nervousness.

It was really sad to think that the only reason that I was celebrating Senior Night was because I am a senior and it is my last home game ever. We won, and I had a pretty good game to end on, so I’m happy.

I have two more Senior Nights to go through this year for the two other sports that I play, and I hope they are all great. I still can’t believe I am a senior and after this year I will no longer represent my high school in sports. I have had a great time in the past, and I will definitely have a great time in the remainder of this year.
