Katie Coker: My Summer & My Life

By Katie Coker on Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Meeting many other girls started off my summer and learning about how the government works at Girls State.  It was loads of fun and I wouldn’t have traded that experience for the world.

I spent the rest of June playing softball on Saturdays with my traveling team called the Stingers. I also was invited to the Junior Classic, which is for girls who play softball for their school.

The month of July was spent at the lake with my family and hanging out by the pool with my friends. August was a very busy month with cheer camp, dance team tryouts, and school starting back.

For school this year I had to read The Kite Runner, and it is one of my top five favorite books along with The Twilight Series and The Guardian by Nickolas Sparks. I love any kind of music that will make you get up out of your seat and dance.

I have a very big family and there is nothing that I would change about them. My mother is a schoolteacher and my father is a farmer.

I am the middle child of three daughters. Lauren attends college at the University of Arkansas and Anna goes to school with me. I have a cousin, Jenna, who is exactly one month younger than me and is my college roommate next year. We have been there for each other since birth and things haven’t changed since.

I have three wonderful grandparents; Gomomma, Daddyjack and Nenee. In all, I have three uncles, three aunts, nine cousins, and two sisters.

I plan on attending the University of Arkansas and can’t wait to move up there.  Since birth I have been cheering on the Razorbacks and knew that I would always attend the U of A.
