Zach Jones feels like floristry chose him, not the other way around. He didn’t fully embrace his calling until after college, where he had changed his major several times, trying to find a “traditional” career path. After working at a local flower shop in college, he realized he could make anything work in a field he loves, and pursue floristry.

“My advice would be to follow your passions and find a way to incorporate them into a side job during high school or college,” Zach said.

He went to the Arkansas Master Florist Program through the Arkansas Florists Association, where he received the Arkansas Master Florist certification as well as his Certified Floral Designer (CFD) through the American Institute of Floral Design. Finally, he studied floristry working at the Biltmore in Asheville, NC. With this experience, he was able to develop his garden-style floral arrangements and start his business, Bearded Bouquet.
