Clara Mitchell couldn’t imagine a life without art. After moving to Central Arkansas in 2006, she quickly planted roots and art became her passion. She attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock to pursue a degree in drawing. Clara sells her artwork and second-hand clothes in Little Rock, often participating in local markets around the metro. While her passion is art, her work ethic serves as the foundation of her career and keeps her grounded.

“I have always wanted to be my own boss in some way,” Clara said. “But this means you never really stop thinking about how to improve your work.”

Not only is Clara devoted to drawing, but she has grown her resume in the arts with modeling, photography and fashion. She hopes to advance her career by collaborating with more artists, models, photographers and stylists both behind and in front of the camera.

“I believe young people should consider turning their passions into their careers because often our passion for something is really a love for the process of it,” Clara said.
“If someone loves chemistry for the math and methodologies, the results are often insightful, but it’s really the trials and adjustments that make the research profound both for the world and themselves. [The] same goes for art.”
