Sen. Breanne Davis

Arkansas State Senator for District 16 |

Breanne Davis has always had a knack for problem solving — a skill in that comes in handy with her job in politics. Ever since she was a child, she’s been a believer that Arkansans need good, passionate people representing them and now she gets to do just that.

As an Arkansas State Senator for District 16, Breanne Davis serves approximately 90,000 people in all of Pope and Newton counties and parts of Boone, Carroll and Van Buren counties. She uses her problem-solving skills each day to cater to her district and its people’s diverse views and opinions. Breanne helps her constituents work through issues and sustain community engagement, and she also helps pass laws for the state.

One reason that she loves her field is its diversity. Breanne appreciates Arkansas’ citizen legislature because it’s made up of people from all backgrounds.

“I love it because it’s a true representation of the 3 million people in Arkansas at our state Capitol,” she says.

The variety of issues and people that she gets to interact with keeps her coming back to her job each day. She says she’s been surprised by how much all of the senators get along, despite differences in policy, philosophy and political party.

Bill or legislation you’re keeping an eye on: “Anti-discrimination organ transplant legislation. Many states deny organ transplants to people who are differently-abled under the belief that they will not grow up to be contributing members of society and now people, state by state, are challenging that narrative.”
