Sydni Maiorino has always been interested in numbers and wanted to pursue a career that would constantly challenge her. She was accepted into the University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business while completing her bachelor’s degree in finance management and investment. She has since become the Walton Finance Club president and is also the portfolio manager of the college, and is also completing a minor in accounting.

“This role [of Walton Finance Club president] has enhanced my networking abilities,” Sydni said. “Connecting and meeting with students [whom] I can help guide and mentor has been a wonderful experience. I find joy in now having the chance to give back to my peers.”

Not only does Sydni utilize clubs and courses to further build her portfolio, but she’s also completed internships with the likes of Telos Capital Advisors, Tyson Foods and Stephens Inc.—Real-world work experience that already helped land her a job, which she’ll start after graduation.

“I have learned a tremendous amount about the industry and was challenged daily,” she said. “This opened up my mind to different paths and the direction I would ultimately take.”

Sydni has accepted a job with Stephens Inc. in Dallas following her graduation in 2024, where she will take on the role of Incoming Investment Banking Analyst.

First career goal acheived: Sydni secured a dream job as an investment banking analyst at Stephens Inc. to start after graduation.

“Whether you prefer a more relaxed work environment, or thrive in a fast-paced setting, there's a role for you. If you have a specific industry you're passionate about, finance offers opportunities tailored to those interests.”- Sydni Maiorino
